What the AI badge means

Publications with the AI badge are verified as sources that AI models cite. Here's how to find them and why they matter for AI visibility.

Updated 1 min read

Some publications carry a small black AI badge next to their name. It means the publication has been verified as a source that AI models (such as ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews) cite when they answer questions. A mention on those sources is one of the most direct ways to show up in AI answers. Background: AI visibility and Link building for AI search.

  • Click the badge on any listing for a short explanation.
  • On a publication's page, the AI visibility section shows how often AI assistants and AI search mention it, by platform.

What to order

Most AI-cited publications also sell an AI Optimized Article: an article written around the questions people ask, with the context and facts an AI answer can use. Any format works, but that one is designed for it.

To see whether it's working, watch the AI visibility tab of your project.
